Cong. Gonzalez secures over $23.7M in community projects for South Texas

WASHINGTON — On Dec. 23, 2022, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) voted to pass the Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) Omnibus Appropriations package to fund the federal government and provide supplemental funding to Ukraine. This package includes $23,796,378 for local community projects located throughout the 15th Congressional District of Texas. Congressman Gonzalez also successfully included H.R. 6810, the Housing our Veterans Act, which takes steps to address veteran homelessness.

Gardening for Wildlife presented by the Center for Urban Ecology

Gardening for Wildlife, presented by the Center for Urban Ecology, introduces how and why guests can use plants for beautiful and wildlife- friendly gardens. Come to Quinta Mazatlan on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 2 – 3 p.m. to learn more about the native plants of the Rio Grande Valley, which ones attract different animals, and why they are important to wildlife while also benefitting people.

Swearing-in ceremony for Torres set for Monday

A Swearing-In Ceremony will be held for Hidalgo County Precinct 4 County Commissioner Ellie Torres. Commissioner Torres will be sworn in to serve her second term as Precinct 4 County Commissioner. The ceremony will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 10 a.m., immediately followed by a reception. The ceremony will take place at the Hidalgo County Commissioners Court located at 100 E. Cano Street in Edinburg, Texas.
