Rep. Cuellar, USDA announce $2M to help Zapata Co. water supply

— Friday, U.S. Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Under Secretary Xochitl Torres Small announced $2,000,000 for Zapata County and the Siesta Shores Water Control and Improvement District (WCID) to support necessary drought mitigation measures that will help guarantee Zapata County’s water supply.

Precinct 4 lights up subdivision in Edinburg

Hidalgo County Precinct 4 Commissioner Ellie Torres visited with residents for a street light recognition event to acknowledge and celebrate the installation of street lights placed in their subdivision. La Quietud subdivision, a 95 lot subdivision, was approved by the Hidalgo County Commissioner’s Court for the Streetlight Program in late 2021 for a 2022 installation. The event was held on Wednesday, December 14th at 5:45p.m. at La Quietud subdivision in Edinburg, TX with residents present to meet and speak to Commissioner Ellie Torres.
