Like most things, we all take water for granted, forgetting that among commodities, the wet stuff is perhaps the most precious of all. Last month, Odessa, Texas, ran out of water for approximately 48 hours, but there was a fix in sight. That happened back in the late 1990s, and based on current water levels, it may happen again when days set aside for lawn irrigation are limited, and an excess fine is established for water use above certain established levels.
