Metro Toastmasters meet Mondays

You are invited to the Metro Toastmasters hybrid meeting on Zoom or in person at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce Board Room, 1200 Ash Ave., on Mondays, from noon until 1 p.m. All ages and walks of life are welcome. Trick in flying — getting friends to split the airplane rental cost

So, I’m done with my Flight Review, but I still need to get my medical certificate before I can go rent a plane. I filled out the online FAA app over the weekend, and now have a confirmation number. With Noel Lopez, MD, (10th Street, McAllen) as my licensed FAA medical examiner, I just need to schedule a visit for next week.
Pharr PD, Tropical Texas receive $550K grant for mental health unit

PHARR — The City of Pharr Police Department and Tropical Texas Behavioral Health held a news conference Monday to announce that a $550,000 grant from the Department of Justice has been awarded to the Pharr Police Department’s Mental Health Unit.
