Laura Hinojosa, Hidalgo County District Clerk, was nominated Thursday by her peers for the District Clerk of Year Award during the County & District Clerks’ Association of Texas (CDCAT), Region VIII Spring Meeting held in Eagle Pass. Every year, two outstanding clerks, a county clerk and a district clerk, are honored for their outstanding contributions and notable service to the association, their counties and the State of Texas.
CBP officers seize cocaine loads at crossings

Special to the Advance HIDALGO — U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations officers at the Port of Hidalgo, intercepted $1,200,800 in alleged cocaine in three interceptions at Pharr, Hidalgo and Anzalduas international crossings.
