Transparency bills are moving forward in the Texas Legislature with bipartisan support to promote open government and correct public information access problems that arose amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Texas health officials on Friday told vaccine providers across the state that they could resume using the one-dose COVID-19 Johnson & Johnson vaccine in all adult recipients after a federal health advisory panel recommended it be reinstated. The recommendation came 11 days after use of that particular vaccine was paused over a small number of reports of a rare but serious clotting side effect in recipients.
City Manager Ed Wylie announced that the sales tax activity for the City of Pharr as of the month of April 2021 continues to show a positive upward trend, demonstrating a steady increase in sales activity. The report shows an increase of 13.34% year-to-date growth in sales tax compared to last year (April 2020) and an increase of 11.79% in sales collections compared to last April.
City Manager Ed Wylie announced that Property Tax Collections as of March 31, 2021, are $22,185,965 which is a 91.94% collection rate, an increase of 1.73% compared to last year. He also announced that Delinquent Tax Collections as of March 31, 2021, are $481,973 which is an increase of 3.57% compared to last year.
