During these difficult times, it’s important to stay positive for the sake of one’s own mental health. Thankfully, my mind plays along – “Okay, here’s something positive. You are going to die.” Thanks, but that’s not what I had in mind. “Plus, you will owe taxes next year.” Still no help.
I need someone with some energy to sell. No, it has to be legal. Seriously, this COVID-19 pandemic has zapped most of mine. You want to know how bad it is? I look back on my father-in-law living in a local assisted-living facility, who spent most of the day sitting in his recliner watching mindless TV. At the time, I felt sorry for him. Now, I’m jealous. I still have to get up and do some work. I’d rather just sit and do nothing.
If anything, this global pandemic shows it’s not who you are, but who you know.
Do me a favor and cut me a little slack this week. Please. Why? It’s because I feel as if there aren’t nearly enough local news stories in this issue; enough columns as well. Truth be told, this pandemic has me down. Way down.
