The new conservative government of Canada is now relaxing requirements for holding referendums. As a result of this, it looks as though Alberta may, next year, vote on whether to remain in Canada or become independent.Mitch Silvestre, who heads up the Alberta Prosperity Project is bent on independence and will be collecting 177,000 petition signatures in order to hold a referendum on that possibility.
