It doesn’t look like the new gun-carry bill will get passed this legislative session up in Austin, but the lieutenant governor and former radio talking head Dan Patrick hasn’t given up trying to get it done (see Texas Tribune story, page xx).
“If we have the votes to pass a permitless carry bill off the Senate floor, I will move it,” Patrick said in a statement (Source: Tx Trib.).
I actually know a friend who doesn’t have a permit to carry, but still carries a small-caliber handgun in his boot. Him, I trust. The rest of the public, not so much.
