Truth Matters
We've been hearing a lot lately about the emoluments clause in the Constitution and how President Trump has supposedly run afoul of it. To date, however, I haven't heard any reporter or politician actually read it. In the interest of clarity, therefore, let's see what it says:
“No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States; And no Person holding any Office of
Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, orforeign State.
