Democrat State Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. recently came out with a tweet endorsing Republican Lt. Governor Dan Patrick. According to Lucio, Patrick is a “hero and legend” and “the best Lt. Governor” he has ever served with. Under party rules, members are actually penalized for endorsing candidates of the opposing party, but Lucio has nothing to lose since he is retiring and not running for reelection.
