Just a few days ago a member of Donald Trump's former executive branch was arrested on his way to Nashville to appear on Mike Huckabee's Christian television program. His supposed crime was that he had refused a subpoena from the House Jan. 6th Committee on the grounds of executive privilege. In point of fact, however, he could have refused to respond on the grounds that the committee itself was illegal and should not possess subpoena power because it was purely partisan and did not meet bipartisan requirements. Nancy Pelosi rejected every Republican that the Republican leadership submitted for committee membership.
