The rake and hoe were repaired, fixed like new, and ready to be picked up at the local blacksmith’s shop. The owner of the tools arrived, with his young son, and handed over a silver dollar for the repairing.
The blacksmith refused to take the money and said there would be no charge for the small job. The father of the son insisted that the blacksmith take the pay, still extending the dollar.
