I can’t do this story justice for this issue of The Advance even though it’s been a week since former Hidalgo County Commissioner A.C. Cuellar Jr. was sentenced to 20 years after being convicted of basically bribing two Weslaco elected officials tied to millions of dollars in city contracts.Given the fact that Cuellar is 68 and will have to serve 85 percent of his full sentence (approximately), that means by the time of his release, he will be approximately 17 years older, which will make him approximately 85 at the time he once again regains his freedom.Seems like a lot ...
