Election Day set for May 7th; vote to lower property taxes

Rising property taxes are something we all feel on an annual basis. These taxes have continued a painful increase for too long and our families are burdened with paying a property tax bill that sometimes feels like a second mortgage. Texans need meaningful property tax reduction, and this May we will vote on two constitutional amendments that if approved will provide tax relief. I was proud to co-author both of these proposals passed during the 2021 special sessions and will continue to advocate for additional property tax relief in the future.

Freedom of Speech

When Elon Musk declared he was about to buy Twitter, people on the left let loose a tirade against the man. Since he was born in South Africa but left that country while still in his youth, he was accused of wanting to bring South Africa’s former apartheid to America. Twitter itself was attacked as a vehicle for use by white racists to attack other white racists. Through that vehicle, Musk might well prevent his political enemies from being heard. He might even affect the outcome of elections.

Defending Ukraine

Yavoriv is a town and military base in Western Ukraine about 50 miles from the Polish border. The complex there was used pre-war by the American military to train Ukrainians. The Americans left when Russia invaded the country. According to a CNN report, however, Russia may well think the Americans are still there and that Russians are fighting against NATO soldiers on Ukrainian soil.
