Just a quick aside. If you think the headline sounds familiar, it’s from Creeque Alley, a real alley that borders a seaside dock in the Virgin Islands (St. Thomas), which gained wider fame after The Mamas & The Papas released a song by the same name, which featured this lyric: “When Cass was a sophomore, she planned to go to Swarthmore, but she changed her mind one day … standing on the turnpike, thumb out to hitchhike, take me to New York right away… Of course, that makes me want to break into song: "All the leaves are brown, all the leaves are brown, and the sky is grey…and the sky is greeeeeey."
