Here’s an idea for Trump and his congressional Republicans that would make heroes out of them: Tell the people who are already in the U.S. without proper immigration documentation, “If you have committed no crimes recently (pick a timeframe), then we will now offer you a path to citizenship. You will no longer have to be fearful of being deported.”
