Dr. Cynthia Gutierrez and Board Prez 'Sorry' is just a five-letter word

PSJA ISD had a special-called board meeting last Monday (Oct. 25) to discuss a few things, such as paying the City of Pharr what it owes in past-due funds for the shared construction of the new natatorium (money still hasn’t been paid as of Tuesday, Nov. 2). During that entire meeting last week, Board Trustee Dr. Cynthia Gutierrez stood in protest over what occurred the week prior, Oct. 18.

By the time you read this, the first skirmish in the 2022 election battle will be over, and we will all know who won the race for governor of Virginia. I suspect that winner will be Glenn Youngkin, a Republican businessman who has been crisscrossing the state in a bus covered with the signatures of supporters. He speaks in a direct but folksy manner and communicates well. Having begun his race far back, he now (according to polls) has a lead of around eight points over Hillary favorite Terry McAuliffe (a former governor of the state).

What will they remember to be the happiest experiences of their lives? Will they recall a busy father who was preoccupied with writing books and catching planes and answering mail and taking phone calls and being a “big man”? Or will they recall a patient dad who took time to love them and teach them and enjoy the beauty of God’s world with them?
