Amberly Melendez will be participating at the June 2020 Olympic Race Walk Trials in Eugene, Oregon where she will be vying to qualify for the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo, Japan. Amberly resides with her parents, Hector and Sofia Melendez, in Edinburg and started race walking with the South Texas Walking Club when she was in the 4th grade. She became a sixtime National High School Champion and represented the USA at the USA vs. Canada Championship.
