Six Hidalgo County football teams are prepping for the UIL Area Round after wins during the bi-district round of the playoffs.Five of those teams are Class 5A squads while the other is the resurgent Weslaco Panthers.Edinburg Vela, PSJA North, McAllen High, Mercedes, and Sharyland all punched their way into the second round.Vela rushed for more than 344 yards, led by running back Jamal Polley’s 282 yards on just 22 carries.
