The World of Sports Something must’ve been in the water in the Tri-City area. High Schools in the PSJA school district and Valley View (which is partly in Pharr and partly in Hidalgo) took their sports teams to a different level this past school year. Marcus Kaufmann, whose PSJA North Raiders advanced to the playoffs, had the best offense and defense in District 30-6A and fought rival and eventual district champ PSJA High down to the final play on the football field, said that it’s no coincidence that the district all across had a phenomenal year. He credits superintendent Daniel King for much of what transpired. PSJA also won the district in baseball, knocking off preseason favorites McAllen High and defeating them in the playoffs one year after losing a three-game heartbreaker.     Read the entire story on the e-Edition of our newspaper.   ...
