For those of us who follow football, either with passion or a who-cares attitude depending on the year, college or pro, the story this year about former Cowboys great “Neon Deion” Sanders, now renamed “Coach Prime,” bringing a bowl game to the Colorado Buffaloes looked like a real possibility.
Brownsville Veterans exploded on PSJA North, shocking the Raiders, and most Rio Grande Valley football fans, early and often en route to a dominant 45-28 victory in the Class 5A Div. I regional semifinals at PSJA Stadium.
PSJA North continued on its path through the playoffs by defeating Victoria East 42-7 in the Region IV-5A area round of the playoffs. The Raiders will play Brownsville Veterans in a rematch of last year’s regional semifinals.
“Neon Deion” Sanders is why I no longer gamble. My ability to prognosticate something, sports, horse races, cartel activity, is terrible. Took me too much money to figure that out, although I still like poker. Just not gambling at cards, which takes the fun away.
Quarterback Ale Aparicio exploded for 338 total yards of offense and five touchdowns as PSJA North rolled past Donna High 45-7 during the Class 5A round of the state football playoffs.
