PHARR - The pandemic has created an athletic season like no other, but two PSJA runners have worked tirelessly to qualify for the Cross-Country State Meet, nonetheless.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 25 years since Jerry Jones’ Dallas Cowboys won a conference championship (1995); the same year they went on to win the Super Bowl. Since then, Da Boys have won seven division championships, but failed to win the conference game, blocking the way to another Super Bowl appearance and a Super Bowl ring for Tony Romo, which he deserved, but could never acquire. Why did Jerry keep a big-game loser, choke artist, on the sidelines as head coach for 10 years (Jason Garrett), well, you’d have to ask Jerry.

Sometimes I got lucky in life. The times I saw Bob Gibson pitch for the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field, I count that as luck. I think I saw him pitch about three times in the very early 1970s. The games were really good when it was Gibson going up against the Cubs’ Fergie Jenkins.
