EDINBURG – For the third consecutive year, all four high schools from the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District made the list of the Best High Schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, considered the “global authority in education rankings.”
“This is the future, this is what is ahead of us,” exclaimed Senator Eddie Lucio III during his remarks. “Thank you to Mayor Hernandez and the City of Pharr for working on a solution that will address the needs of our students, our workers, and our community,” said Lucio.
There is an old adage in aviation that goes like this: “Flying is 99 percent boredom and one percent sheer terror.”
Another election season come and gone, and it looks like the two cities with the most contested races were McAllen and San Juan, which was pretty much a given considering that at least seven seats had more than two candidates in contention.
My longtime buddy, Stuart Klein, passed away Sunday, and I have to say, I’m going to miss visiting with the guy who probably framed more diplomas, family photos, at the gallery he and his wife, Sylvia, owned and operated for so many years on Main Street just south of the old library – S. Klein Gallery.
