Weslaco Museum to hold a Mother’s Day fundraiser luncheon

After months of openings and closings, vaccinations are happening, and the Weslaco Museum is ready to receive visitors. So many have had to “shelter in place” and now are looking for interesting things to do. During the month of May, the Weslaco Museum will be celebrating MOTHERS. “Mother’s Day Hats” is the title of the monthly exhibit that will focus on the fashion expression of hats through many decades. The persnickety woman still chooses her hat carefully when preparing for her day.

EDINBURG — The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library invites the public to celebrate National Poetry Month with local poet César L. de León. The author will promote his talent in verse -- including his contribution to the poetry anthology Dreaming: A Tribute to Selena Quintanilla-Perez -- at the library on Thursday, April 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
