Contributions from Hidalgo County business community will benefit the county's Utility Assistance Program

Contributions were made and accepted from several members of the business community on Tuesday, which will benefit the Hidalgo County Community Service Agency's Utility Assistance Program. The funds were distributed to aid during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Graduating High School Senior Raises Money to Help Feed Healthcare Heroes at Rio Grande Regional Hospital

McALLEN – In the midst of preparing to complete her final assignments for her upcoming high school graduation, Hali Temkin unexpectedly ended up at Rio Grande Regional Hospital’s emergency room (ER). While Hali was in the ER, she said she witnessed how everyone around her was working so hard and non-stop caring for patients. Hali was lucky to go home that night, but she said she left the ER wanting to do something for the staff as a way to give back.

Studies have shown that there are great health benefits that come with pet ownership, such as decreased blood pressure, lowered cholesterol and an improved mental outlook. Cinderella has a number of older dogs who are in good health and who have lots of love left to give. Mars and Mickey are energetic seven-year-olds who have been in the shelter for a long time. They enjoy people and would love to find someone of their very own to love.
