HUB City Toastmasters meets each Wednesday at the Pharr Memorial Library, 121 E. Cherokee, second floor, from noon until 1 p.m. Visitors are welcome.

DHR Health is getting ready once again to make a big splash at its 19th Annual “Fishing for Hope” fundraising tournament. This year’s event is set to take place at Jim’s Pier on South Padre Island on August 23, 2025. All proceeds from the event will benefit uninsured patients who are treated at the Hope Family Health Center, a non-profit organization that sees over 5,000 patients a year. Over the past 19 years, DHR Health has helped raise over $5 M for the center since it’s inauguration of this signature event.
