Phyllis Allen, DTM, received one of the best recogntions in her 94 years of life on September 14th. The members of Metro Toastmasters Club agreed to honor her and rename the club to Allen McAllen Toastmasters Club #9724.
Luisa Montalvo's speech was clearly a winner from the moment she acknowledged the contest chair. The Rio Grande Valley Toastmasters all knew, but had to wait for the judges to confirm. Montalvo was in an incredible field of speakers, but her speech '37 Strangers' in the World Championship Finals yielded her the win.

Tetra is a 9-month-old Terrier who has been at the shelter since February.
Lollipuppy is a Belgian Malinois/Chihuahua cross, who was born in February, 2024. She has the characteristic dark muzzle of the Belgian Malinois as well as a cinnamon colored coat, often seen in the breed. She weighs about 12 pounds but still has some growing to do. She has expressive, big brown eyes, topped by half-eyebrows, and great big, silky ears, large enough to put a bunny to shame.
