After Vanguard Academy Public Charter Schools Superintendent Narciso Garcia retires effective June 30, current Edcouch-Elsa ISD Superintendent Marisol Rocha has already been selected the district’s Lone Finalist and is expected to begin work July 1.
After 32 years spent as an educator, school administrator, Dr. Narciso Garcia, EdD, will officially retire June 30 at the relatively young age of 53, just when the charter school district he represents, Vanguard, has claimed its fifth “A” in Academics in as many years.

On May 16, the Pan American Round Table of Alamo-San Juan-Pharr (P.A.R.T. of A.S.J.P.) honored two students from Southwest High School of the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District. D’banhy Ocanas and Karla Mascorro each received a $1,000 scholarship to further their education.
Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD recently announced a historic milestone for the district as the Class of 2024 graduates from all six high schools were awarded over $167 million in scholarships and grants.
