McAllen’s Tap Water Safe During Vector Pandemic

McALLEN - McAllen Public Utility, which daily provides water service to over 40,000 residential and business accounts throughout the city, wants to assure the public that during the coronavirus global pandemic, the tap water from your faucet continues to be safe for all household and business needs, including cooking, washing, bathing and yes, especially drinking. “Our MPU water is the same healthy water that we have been delivering to our customers since before the COVID-19 crisis began,” said Mark Vega, MPU general manager. “In fact, during this time, it is more important than ever to turn to your public utility system, instead of creating panic and chaos at our grocery retail stores by stockpiling bottled water.”
