Edinburg CISD to remain closed through April 6

EDINBURG – The Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District announced Tuesday that based on information from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Commissioner of Education, Hidalgo County government and considerations from health officials regarding coronavirus (COVID-19), school sites will be closed for instruction until Monday, April 6, 2020, pending any additional information and updates.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office arrests murder suspect

DONNA - HCSO has arrested 32-year-old, Manuel Martinez III for the Murder of 54-year-old, Reynaldo Menchaca Villarreal. On Saturday, March 14, 2020, at approximately 11:54 P.M., the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office responded east of Victoria Road on Walker Road in rural Donna, Texas to assist the Weslaco Police Department in locating Manuel Martinez III.

Jury cancelled through May 8th and Grand Jury cancelled scheduled for April 1st

EDINBURG – Local Administrative Presiding Judge Noé Gonzalez, released a statement today in accordance with the motion that was made and passed at the Emergency Board of Judges meeting held on March 16, 2020.
