Ali showed we’re all human

Crash, bam, boom: 29,000 blows to the head. That’s the number of punches that Muhammad Ali calculated he received to his noggin during the course of his long and illustrious boxing career, according to an AP story published shortly after the 74-year-old former heavyweight champion of the world passed away in June 2016. Thankfully, his fights live on, courtesy of the internet where sports junkies can always go for a quick fix. Watched a vid last week on YouTube of A-Rod’s greatest defensive plays from third base. Forget what an arm the guy had. Like a rocket with an afterburner. Ali’s final knockout was due to some sort of respiratory distress after battling Parkinson’s Disease for approximately the last 30 years of his life.

- Jan Wendorf Photographer: Dr. Gregg L. Wendorf, MD, MPH Advance Publishing LLC © The northern giraffe, also known as three-horned giraffe, is the type species of giraffe, G. camelopardalis, and is native to North Africa, although alternative taxonomic hypotheses have proposed the northern giraffe as a separate species. Once abundant throughout Africa since the 19th century, Northern giraffes ranged from Senegal, Mali and Nigeria from West Africa to up north in Egypt.
