County courthouse needs new set of eyes

Where exactly on last week’s Hidalgo Commissioners Court agenda the item was listed is hard to see with just a quick glance. It’s there, though, according to reliable sources, and some wording on the minutes that could or could not be about the new courthouse still under construction and the pending litigation now tied to it while the place sits idle. The Commissioners Court has apparently now approved the first steps needed to hire a third-party consultant to evaluate the project.

Hidalgo County Precinct 3 launches its Don’t Mess with Precinct 3 Reward Program for reporting illegal dumping

MISSION — Hidalgo County Precinct 3 is launching a new program that will provide monetary rewards to witnesses who report illegal dumping in Precinct 3 county areas. With the Don’t Mess with Precinct 3 Reward Program, witnesses who report illegal dumping can receive a $500 reward.
