The Advance News is working on a story about a proposed land sale by PSJA ISD that seems just a little bit out of sync. The relatively rich 19.06- acre parcel of land in question is where the old Garza-Peña school campus used to sit, along the northeast corner of Raul Longoria and the expressway, and also includes land spread between Raul Longoria and Cesar Chavez. In other words, prime commercial land facing the expressway.

I heard the 1984 Billy Idol song “Eyes Without a Face” a couple of weeks ago. It’s about the human condition and moral decay—the title is borrowed from the 1960 French horror film, “Les Yeux Sans Visage” (Eyes Without a Face), in which a plastic surgeon’s daughter becomes so hideously disfigured in a car accident that he’s compelled to murder young women then graft their facial features onto her in an attempt to restore her beauty. The song made me think… couldn’t “eyes without a face” refer to God in the sense of integrity? We can’t know for sure (in this life, anyway) if God has a face, but according to Proverbs
