Good news is, after waiting a couple of months or more, The Advance finally found out how much PSJA ISD had paid an outside contractor to cut the grass at 10 campuses last year during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic (approximately $24,000), and The Advance discovered the amount that the district had paid for shirts for its students (approximately $300,000) — the bulk of which was awarded to a vendor based in Laredo.
OK, granted, there are no commuter trains running through the RGV, but if there was one rolling down the tracks, and a guy was raping a woman aboard one of the train cars, someone down here surely would have stepped forward to stop the sexual assault or at least have called 911.
Let’s just say it’s been a while since I took to the skies — way too long for a lot of reasons. Mainly life, I suppose, handling the newspaper business, caring for aging parents. Too may things took precedence over the one thing I truly love: flying.
