Good Ol’ Charlie Brown, in a good ol’ four-paneled Peanuts strip that ran when I was still singing soprano, looks forlornly at a book on a table in the first panel and says “Christmas vacation is almost over…” With the book in hand, he exclaims in the second panel, “I still haven’t written my book report on ‘Gulliver’s Travels.’… I haven’t even started to read it yet!” In the third panel, he ponders aloud, “Why don’t I get started? Why do I put things off?” The fourth panel finds Good Ol’ Charlie Brown in a chair in front of the tv, asking himself the age-old question many of us continue to ask ourselves, “What’s wrong with me?”
With the holiday season winding to a close, COVID-19 cases are spiking across the country. As pet owners quarantine, questions of pet safety against this disease and the quickly spreading omicron variant continue to arise as well.
Here is a question to ponder: If a person refuses to get one of the COVID vaccines because they’ve just listened to some quack doc on FOX News tell them not to get the jab, then is it fair for them to call upon medical science to bail them out if the virus invades their body, and they or their loved ones catch COVID-19 and require hospitalization?
If true, the moral of this story should be: get everything in writing when conducting business with someone.
