Ann Fortescue, IMAS director, elected to TAM Council

McALLEN —Ann Fortescue, President & Executive Director of the International Museum of Art & Science, has been elected to the Texas Association of Museums as a Councilor-at-Large for a twoyear term beginning March 2021. She joins 15 museum leaders from across the state as the governing body for TAM to represent the over 600 TAM members and advance the work of museums in serving their communities and professional excellence of museum staff.

I found on a blog a few years ago where someone had written that “the hatred of God was put on display at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.” Do you believe this? Many people do. At first I thought it nothing more than an opinion in an Internet full of opinions—but after looking at this statement again, I began to consider the use of God and the word hatred in the same sentence.

Hidalgo County Urban County Program announces COVID-19 Rental Assistance

EDINBURG – The Hidalgo County Urban County Program is now accepting applications for their COVID-19 Rental Assistance program. This program will assist rural county residents financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic with short-term rental assistance, Hidalgo County Urban County Director PR. Avila said on Friday. Qualifying residents will get assistance paying rent at their apartment or home for up to six months.
