Local news media reported that the City of McAllen was working on developing temporary City-issued IDs to assist in resolving an issue concerning migrants crossing local points of entry and clearing Transportation Security Administration pre-boarding inspection at McAllen International Airport. This report was based on initial information that access to flights was prohibited without photo identification. City of McAllen officials worked to address the initial reports of denied access to flights, it was determined that access was, in fact, not denied but instead delayed due to the complexities related to the identity verification process of immigrants boarding flights at McAllen International Airport.
