The Texas Department of Transportation is advising motorists of possible traffic interruptions and delays as the IH-2/U.S. 83 westbound SS 115/23rd St. exit ramp and westbound frontage road from the IH-2/U.S. 83 westbound SS 115/23rd St. exit to SS 115/23rd St. will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021 and continuing through Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
PHARR - The Pharr- San Juan-Alamo Independent School District hosted the first virtual recruitment meetings for half of its eight PSJA Institutes for the 2020- 2021 School Year, on Friday, Jan. 15, highlighting the Pre-Law, Law Enforcement, Health Care and Sports Medicine Institutes. The next wave of recruitment meetings will be conducted this Friday, Jan. 22.
The City of McAllen’s Bicentennial Boulevard extension construction is still ongoing and a troubling trend is emerging that is cause for concern: McAllen residents are running and biking along the constructed road extension as contractors are working in the area. This is especially worrying to contractors who are operating heavy equipment and vehicles along the road. This is creating a potentially dangerous situation for anyone on-site other than authorized personnel.
PHARR – Due to continued weather conditions, the permanent ramp closures of the I-2 eastbound entrance ramp, just east of Cage Boulevard, and the Veterans Boulevard exit (147A) ramp, have been rescheduled once again.
The City of McAllen participates in the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program. This program makes possible the measurement and analysis of the crime index in a uniform manner. The UCR program is the reporting of seven index crimes.
