Out-of-state bus arrives in South Texas: One passenger dies and another tests positive for COVID-19

EDINBURG – Local health and emergency management officials with Hidalgo County and the City of McAllen on Wednesday met a bus with out-of-state travelers who had been exposed to a passenger confirmed with COVID-19, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said Thursday.

Rep. Cuellar Delivers $1,899,545 in Federal Funds to UTRGV

MISSION – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) announced $1,899,545 in federal funds to the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. These funds, awarded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service’s Conservation Innovation Grants On-Farm Trials program, will be used to implement on-theground approaches to improve soil health for farming across the region.

City of Pharr Strives to Keep Citizens Safe During Voting

PHARR – Earlier this month, the City of Pharr passed Ordinance O-2020- 37 regulating electioneering in city-owned or city-controlled property in order to help keep citizens and the community stay safe during voting. While the city is still allowing electioneering, individuals doing so will have to respect the city Ordinance and only do so in specified areas for safety.
