REPORT: COVID Cases in Nursing Homes Surpass Peak Level in May

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), representing more than 14,000 nursing homes and assisted living communities across the country that provide care to approximately five million people each year, released an updated report today showing the major spike of new COVID cases in nursing homes has now surpassed the peak level back on May 31, according to updated data released from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

BROWNSVILLE – The Texas Border Coalition (TBC) today blasted a Trump Administration proposal that would bar U.S. citizens and lawful residents from crossing at U.S.-Mexico land ports of entry if there is a suspicion that the person has been exposed to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

DPS makes additional arrest for criminal activity committed during May protest at State Capital

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) obtained an arrest warrant for the 14th person wanted in connection with the protests and rioting that occurred at the Texas State Capital in May. During the riots, numerous officers were assaulted and property was damaged.
