EDINBURG – The Hidalgo County Cares Small Business Grant Program has amended the requirements and criteria to apply for assistance. The program was created to financially assist rural county businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

EDINBURG – The U.S. Census Bureau recently announced it was moving up the final day to respond to the 2020 Census by more than a month from their original deadline. Previously, residents could respond by October 31, 2020, however the new date to complete the survey is September 30, 2020.
PENITAS — Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) announced $13,928.57 in federal funds to the City of Penitas’ Fire Department. These funds, awarded through FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Supplemental (AFG-S), will be used to support the health of firefighters during the COVID-19 pandemic.
EDINBURG — Palm Valley Animal Society (PVAS) is launching a pet food drive-thru to assist families struggling to feed their pets. The first drivethru will be held on Saturday, August 15, starting at 10 am at the PVAS Laurie P. Andrews Center.
