Red Cross announces financial assistance for families impacted by Hurricane Hanna

The American Red Cross began providing financial assistance and recovery planning to eligible households damaged from Hurricane Hanna on August 5, 2020. This program will serve households whose residences sustained major damage or were destroyed.
Hidalgo County COVID Condolence Program available

EDINBURG – Hidalgo County has established the Hidalgo County COVID Condolence Program to assist eligible individuals who have lost a loved one due to COVID-19 with up to $2,000 for funeral expenses. This program is being administered by the Hidalgo County Health and Human Services Department.
Sonic to open new restaurant in San Juan

SAN JUAN — On Saturday, Aug. 8, the City of San Juan and the San Juan EDC held a ground-breaking ceremony for Sonic restaurant. The City of San Juan will be the first city in the RGV to have the new and improved Sonic with an indoor dining area along with the classic outdoor drive-in we all know and love. A pandemic will not stop us from bringing in new businesses and opportunities for our community. We will continue to work hard for our city so that it may prosper.
