As we approach our first year anniversary of the implementation of the Hidalgo County Wellness Program, we have proven the success of the program, said Hidalgo County Wellness Coordinator Diana Huallpa at Tuesday's Commissioners Court meeting. Huallpa also updated the court with upcoming projects.
PHARR — The City of Pharr partnered with the Texas Military Department, Texas Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Management, the Texas Emergency Medical Task Force, the Texas Department of State Health Services, and the Hidalgo County Office of Emergency Management to host a very successful free community COVID-19 mobile testing center. Over the course of the three-day mobile testing site, the partner organizations complimented the City of Pharr's staff for their orderliness and organization in managing the flow of the hundreds of residents that showed up to be tested. EDINBURG — Responding to an emergency request by Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez, the State of Texas early Sunday said it would be sending nurses from other parts of the state to bolster the staffing of at least one Hidalgo County hospital.
EDINBURG — Three more people have died as a result of complications related to COVID-19, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said Monday. This comes as 248 people learned they tested positive for the virus bringing the total number of known positive cases is now 3,542.
