CBP officers apprehend fugitive wanted for sexual assault at Anzalduas International Bridge

Special to the Advance MISSION — U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations officers at the Anzalduas International Bridge apprehended Javier Antonio Calvillo, a male U.S. citizen from Pharr, wanted on an outstanding felony warrant for sexual assault. “CBP screens all travelers entering the United States. We are committed to bringing in those individuals with outstanding arrest warrants to face their criminal charges,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Port of Hidalgo/ Pharr/Anzalduas.

Impaired driver enforcement campaign set to start Friday

The McAllen Police Department, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation and other law enforcement agencies, will be participating in the Impaired Driving Mobilization (IDM) Spring Break Campaign, which will run from Friday until Sunday, March 23, with a goal to promote safe driving with its educational and enforcement efforts.
