$210,752 in Federal COVID-19 Funding for First Responders

MISSION – Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) announced $210,752.37 in federal funds to assist La Joya, Palmview, Penitas, and Mission in their efforts to prevent, prepare for, and respond to the coronavirus. These funds, awarded through the Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) Program, will be used for overtime, protective equipment and supplies for our first responders.

Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez orders Shelter-at-Home Order

EDINBURG – In his capacity as the county’s Emergency Management Director, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez signed a new county order for all residents and visitors in Hidalgo County. The new emergency orders include a shelter at home order, curfew, essential travel limitations and a requirement for everyone to use facial coverings while outdoors.

McAllen Residential Building Inspections to Move to Virtual

MCALLEN — As part of the City of McAllen’s progressive eServices and ongoing effort to protect the health and safety of its residents, contractors and employees, the City of McAllen’s Building Department is launching a program to conduct live remote video residential building inspections.
