It's easy to almost become addicted to looking at the numbers: the relatively rapid spread of the novel coronavirus that causes the respiratory illness COVID - 19 (COronaVIrus Disease - 2019).
So there is this debate of sorts swirling around the PSJA ISD area concerning the district's new hiring of four top administrators, none of whom currently works for PSJA. "Didn't the district have anyone good enough to hire from within?" goes the common refrain.
McALLEN - The Texas Migrant Interstate Program's 33rd Annual State Conference was held at the McAllen Convention Center on February 24, 2020. The conference united educators and administrators that are stakeholders in the education of migrant students.
PHARR – A free Public Speaking Workshop focusing on speech introductions is offered on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Pharr Memorial Library, 121 E. Cherokee, 2nd floor, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Not everyone is comfortable with the concept of a speech introduction. An inaccurate or unexpected introduction can fluster even the most prepared speaker. In this one-hour session, participants will learn and practice public speaking techniques including introducing a speaker and writing your own speech introduction. Whether you are the invited speaker or the one chosen to introduce the speaker, this workshop will be beneficial. A well-crafted introduction enhances the speaker’s presentation. The workshop presenter is Luisa Montalvo, first runner-up in the Toastmasters 2019 World Championship of Public Speaking. This free workshop is hosted by HUB City Toastmasters Club. AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) began issuing the newly designed Texas driver licenses (DL), identification (ID) cards and license to carry (LTC) cards to all Texans. Most notably, all of the cards will feature a new look with an updated design and enhanced security features. The DL/ID cards will also feature visible and discrete identifiers on the front. It’s important to note that previously issued DLs are still valid until the expiration date listed on the card.
