Jose Salas, 80, entered eternal rest Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at McAllen Heart Hospital. Mr. Salas was a lifelong resident of Edinburg and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Teodora L. and Serafin Garcia Sr., Justo Salas; and a sister, Gloria Longoria. Mr. Salas is survived by his wife of 57 years, Aurora Salas; two children, Cynthia Salas Rodriguez, Jose (Dalia) Salas Jr., all of Edinburg; four grandchildren, Clarissa Laura (Rudy) Ruiz, Karina Eliza Rodriguez, Alejandro Esteban (Stephanie) Salas, Adam Isaiah Salas; two great-grandchildren, Asaph Ezekiel Ruiz, Elijah Joziah Salas; and 11 siblings, Tomas (Martha) Garcia, Esther Garcia, Israel Garcia, Agustin Garcia, Oscar Garcia, Teodora Garcia, Serafin Garcia Jr., Lydia (Hector) Soto, Noverta (Leonardo) Mora, Olivia Perez, Dora (Armando) Zapata. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. Celebration of Life today, April 13, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
