Get off the middle of the street. That’s what a lot of McAllen drivers had to be thinking Saturday afternoon into the early evening as hundreds of protesters mucked up S. 10th near La Plaza Mall. You know, the area of McAllen that already has to deal with traffic congestion.
PSJA ISD has had a capable superintendent now since late 2022 when the November school board election flipped the majority, swept out two incumbents by the largest vote disparity seen in recent years, which finally brought a decent superintendent back on board in the wake of three years of rack and ruin after Dr. Daniel King retired in late 2019.
For Hidalgo County, and perhaps McAllen in particular, traffic congestion is getting better, not worse.
Word came Saturday of a tragic DWI-related fatality in Palmview that included the death of a 5-year-old boy.
