Goodbye, ‘Ricky Rod’

— As Ricardo “Ricky Rod” Rodriguez gets ready to step down as Hidalgo County District Attorney at the end of this month after two terms in office, I think the thing for which he will be most remembered is the successful conviction of John Feit, the former Catholic killer priest who thought he had gotten away with the brutal kidnapping, rape, and murder of Irene Garza, a 25-year-old McAllen teacher.

IDEA Charter has a problem

So I’m on the fed’s website, Pacer.gov, looking at the lawsuit filed this month by IDEA’s former CEO and co-founder JoAnn Gama, and I have to think, she does indeed have a legitimate case. If I were IDEA, I’d want to settle with her as opposed to taking the case to trial.
