— Hidalgo County Precinct 4 will host a Blood Drive on Thursday, February 16, 2023, from 12:30pm to 4:00pm at the Dispatch Room located at 1124 North “M” Road in Edinburg. All participants will receive a free gift and snacks for their donation. The blood drive will be conducted by Vitalant.
— The Texas City Managers Association (TCMA) is proud to announce not one, but two City of McAllen administrators as recipients of two 2023 TCMA Professional Awards. McAllen City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, P.E., is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 2023 TCMA Professional Awards, which recognizes city management professionals who have made significant contributions to the field of local government management for more than 20 years. Assistant City Manager Joe Vera is being honored with the Mentoring Award in Memory of Gary Gwyn which recognizes a city management professional who has made significant contributions in the development of new talent and who has designed and implemented outstanding career development programs for local government employees.
